The heroine of the poem "Evangeline" by Henry Wadsworth
Longfellow is the namesake of this soft-ripened goat�s
milk cheese. Evangeline arrived in Louisiana after being
separated from her fianc� Gabriel during the expulsion
of the Acadians from Nova Scotia in 1755. She spent her
life searching for her love only to have him die in her
arms upon their reunion. This snow-white cheese,
